Our Story

Otoniel and I met at Azusa Pacific University at a meet & greet event for our minor, Honors Humanities. We became friends and would study together. Early in our friendship he learned that I had never been to Costco which of course led to our first of many monthly Costco trips. He began attending my family’s church and we would carpool together every week. After a while I became so used to having him around it felt like something was missing when he wasn’t there. We continued to develop our friendship and took a few road trips together to see our families for the holidays. Incidentally, this is when we met each other’s extended family. Near this time we became very involved with the church and served on a mission trip together to Mexico. One week after that trip we officially started dating and it’s been a joy ever since. From that point on we have celebrated many holidays, birthdays, and life stages together. We have served on many short term missions trips both together and separately. Otoniel proposed April 6th and it was the easiest yes. That May we walked the stage together at graduation. His degree being in Computer science and Honors Humanities while I received a degree in Social work and a minor in Honors Humanities. After college we knew the Lord had called us to Washington for a 9 month ministry school. That is where we are now until May and it has been incredibly rewarding being able to worship, pray, study, and grow together during our engagement. In this season we are in pre marital counseling, gleaning from a strong couple in the faith while we continue our studies, prepare for a mission trip to Brazil, and plan a wedding. We are so grateful for the opportunity to celebrate this joyous union with people we love who have been there along the way.

Blessings,
Naomi & Otoniel
